REFUND POLICY

In the event that you cannot attend the course, refunds are not available, however given at least 7 days hours notice your booking and payment is transferable to another date or person (max 3 transfers)

In the event that a course is cancelled by us for any reason, you have the option of transferring to another course, or a full refund. For additional details refer to the compliments and complaints page.

PROOF OF IDENTITY

Each individual sitting the safe boating course MUST provide Proof of Identity (POI). A current NSW drivers license is acceptable. Other POI may also be acceptable, see the NSW Maritime POI brochure for details.

GENERAL YOUNG ADULT LICENCE

Young adult licences are available for persons aged between 12 years and under 16 years of age.

For young adult applicants only, POI requirements can be met by providing their full birth certificate (original or certified copy).

Young adult applicants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must sign a declaration consenting to the young adult obtaining a boat licence.

The parent/legal guardian must also provide acceptable POI documents.

PRIOR STUDY

The compulsory safe boating course and test requires students to be well prepared before attending the course. A good understanding of the current NSW Maritime Boating Handbook is required prior to attending the safe boating course.

APPLICANTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Sailingworld Pty Ltd (trading as Boating Licence Course) must ensure that applicants for a General Boat Licence;

  1. whose first language is not English
  2. who are deaf and use AUSLAN and require an interpreter; or
  3. who have difficulty comprehending written questions and require an oral test,

are directed to contact their local NSW Maritime Operations Centre to make alternative Boat Licence Course and Test arrangements.

The NSW Maritime's Boating Handbook provides essential boating information for operating on NSW waters. It is recommended that you read through the literature provided prior to sitting the test.  The downloadable files are in *.pdf format, able to be viewed in Adobe Acrobat.
